it was good, wife made a couple friends it seems, inadvertantly got job leads for child care (which she wants to get out of and we both agree on that, so I was sort of perplexed at how she was discussing what she did for a living with people, but we got that sorted out later.

QUESTION: is "often" pronounced "offen" or "of-ten"?

They may not be re-filling my position. My boss is interviewing for a new jorb on Monday. People in other areas are slowly becoming horrified as they realize I won't be around.

downside: matlab. student license is $99. what i might do is use octave for prototyping and then drop by the school's computer lab to test the code, but that adds a lot of overhead. might just try to sneak by with octave. the class moves fast, after all, because it's a summer class. anyway, leafing through the syllabus, looks like he's going to drive us hard. sweet. so i'll be busy.

I gave my opponent a gift. I had a winning position (Rybka confirms), but it was a little technical. Then, instead of playing a winning move, I played a losing move that I had seen, on the previous move, as immediately losing. I immediately lost.
