Really, the more you read about public pensions, the more you realize that this is the true Ponzi scheme. The middle class is a bubble. Even people we would consider frugal are living as if they have twice the money they actually have, if you consider what they will actually need to retire.

Time travel comes up a lot in science fiction, I suppose, but it seems to me that there aren't many good shows that use it regularly as a part of their plot. Star Trek, for instance, doesn't count, it's an occasional odd anomaly. Doctor Who does, it's an integral part.

I'll buy the drinks, you pay the rent.

I might have to stop listening to an Ipod on the train. It's hard to listen to at a sufficient volume to beat the train noise without damaging the ears. Even at a slightly lesser volume, I find the hearing in my left ear goes a little bad after a few days, but recovers when I stop listening for a while. Well, drat.

It is getting hot around here, so I cut off the beard last night. It would be a shame to get rid of the whole thing, so I left a moustache. It is awesome. I shaved this morning. Awesome.
