okay, this machine learning summer class looks cool

downside: matlab. student license is $99. what i might do is use octave for prototyping and then drop by the school's computer lab to test the code, but that adds a lot of overhead. might just try to sneak by with octave. the class moves fast, after all, because it's a summer class. anyway, leafing through the syllabus, looks like he's going to drive us hard. sweet. so i'll be busy.

I was stupid and couldn't type right, apparently. I accidentally did my change of address request wrong with the post office and said I was moving into 2W instead of 1W. I sent in a correction today.

1. Searching for apartments.

Saw a 2BR garden apartment yesterday. It was very cheap and well-located (heat and cooling included), but the ceilings were six inches above my head (2 inches in some places) and the yard and exterior were not kept up well. The place got little natural light, so that was a dealbreaker.
