Print Story meet me in miramas
I was idly wondering what happened to the Fiery Furnaces, because I like their music a lot, but their last album was in 2009. After googling, it seems Eleanor Friedberger released an album last week.

Now, I don't really have a complete axiomatic politics system, as I'm a pragmatist who thinks any system will involve throwing some bodies under the rug. The question is, whose bodies is your system built on? I think axiomatic approaches are self-delusions because you can't get anything a priori, so I don't believe in natural law as such. Revealed truths about government don't tell us we have rights, either, they tell us we have duties and then tell us that politics involve killing people, unfortunately, and there is no just political system, so that's not helpful, either, for the axiomatically inclined, particularly those who make a big fuss about "rights" and "liberties".

Saturday! Woo! There may be beer geeks/snobs out there, but it should still be a fun day. I got two tickets.

Back at work for the first time since last Tuesday. Meh.

I Never Could Get the Hang of Thursdays

There are worse things than Installing software on a virtual environment. For example, installing software on a virtual server which is 10,000 miles away and has ping times of around 200ms. And that's not so bad when compared to having to do that install via a secondary virtualisation through something like VLC.

x-posted to da brog, sans buzzy poll.

I might just skip out on the whole "getting photographic evidence of the beard" thing and just shave the bloody thing in shame.

on thursday, i happen to have nothing on my schedule. friday is "suicide prevention day", a day off. starting at 8am on thursday, they will stage a reading of the odyssey which will last until they've gone through it all, projected ending at 10pm. i'll so totally be there for like 5 hours of it.

details of why inside.
