Print Story Ask Husi: I admit I am annoying and boring how can I not be?
I am annoying, I am not trying to troll but I end up trolling anyway. I think even Gandhi might want to take a punch at me if I wrote a comment to him. I'm also boring, nobody likes me because I am uninteresting. I have little to no interests in almost anything.

I've been out of work since 2002. I've been trying to keep up with computer advancements and technology. I used to write very good Visual BASIC 6.0 code with MS SQL Server databases.

Print Story Ask Husi: Free Project Mangement Software
Software
By Big Sexxxy Joe (Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 04:46:02 PM EST) ask husi, free stuff, work (all tags)
At work we are about to start a real large project and we are looking for good project management software.  This is for a software development project, by the way.

Now the company I work for is cheap, real cheap.  (No Christmas bonus cheap.)  So we need something that's free or at least easy to pirate.  Any suggestions?

As always, I thank you in advance!

Print Story Amsterdam (Part 1, I suppose)
I should be there in less than 24 hours.  Does anyone have anything they think I have to do in Amsterdam, other than the obvious? (Although feel free to emphasize the obvious anyways if you feel like it).  I'm also curious about cellphones; I don't have any first-hand experience with cells in Europe at all, and I'm going to need one despite only being there two weeks.

Print Story Ask Husi - Email Server
Diary
By priestess (Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 02:40:31 AM EST) email, help, ask husi, unix (all tags)
I'm migrating all our servers to a new host, which seems like a good opportunity to fix some annoying things.

In particular email: At the moment we're using exim4 and some pop3 server or another and squirrel-mail.

Whenever they ask me to create a new email account, I have to add a new user account for the whole machine. Making an /etc/passwd entry, giving shell access (which I then take away again), making a home directory etc. All just so they can collect email.

This seems inefficent

Print Story "So why do you want to leave your job?"
Working life
By Big Sexxxy Joe (Tue Jun 27, 2006 at 03:53:42 AM EST) Ask Husi, job interviews (all tags)
I'm looking for new jobs because I'm being paid less than 2/3 my value and my boss is a total immature asshole, who is too young and not even close to being ready to manage.

Anyway, all the books on interviewing tell you to always be positive and never speak poorly of your present employer.

Of course, many employers ask me why I want to leave my job after a little more than a year.  I don't have a particularly good answer.
