Reading: "Song of the Forever Rains", "Meetings With Remarkable Manuscript", "Never Finished". Me. Links.

What I'm Reading
Song of the Forever Rains. Fantasy novel with interesting worldbuilding and magic system, let down a bit by predictable plotting and romance. Entertaining light reading, but didn't interest me enough to keep up with the series, might be better for younger readers.

What I'm Reading 2
Meetings With Remarkable Manuscripts. Expert in the field goes through a dozen illustrated medieval manuscripts. Discusses the content, the artwork, the history and ownership, and even the reading rooms in which they are kept. Nicely illustrated and interesting.

What I'm Reading 3
Never Finished by ultrarunner and former Navy Seal David Goggins. Sequel to his inspirational autobiography "Can't Hurt Me" which is definitely worth reading. This book relies heavily on the former and might not make much sense if you haven't read it. Has more details about his childhood, and what happened in his life afterwords, including his heart problems. Worth reading if you liked the last one but not one to read first.

Off work between Xmas and New Years. Hoped to be doing moderately fun stuff but the kid's sick and just looking after him.

Visited the family which was nice. Survived Xmas day without any disasters.

Video. Interesting set of LONG videos by a British man who joined the Ukrainian International Legion. A leap into the unknown. Back from the Front. Guide to Useful and Useless Kit. What it is like to be shelled by the Russians?

Sci/Tech. AI designed antenna. Wound Cube.

Did you read the K B Wagers trilogies (space opera, ex gunrunner empress)? If so, thoughts?

I should maybe look out for them as I need something light... I'm bogged down in a relatively heavy book at the moment.
It is unlikely that the good of a snail should reside in its shell: so is it likely that the good of a man should?
