Getting back my French. LingQ is a cool app but the non-free part seems quite a bit too much for its worth. Anyway, it has a lot of free content with text and audio synced up. The relevance here is that I started going through Les miserables on it and it's going okay. But it turns out the book is incredibly long. I've been idly going through at one chapter per day and only now figured out that if I kept up at this pace that would be more than a year of work. Not going to do that. I think I'm going to get rid of the audio component and just read the book in an e-book reader. Another alternative is that it's 60-70 hours of audio, so I could just do half an hour per day by doing more than one chapter at a time and be done in maybe four months. Possible. But unless that's the only French review I do, that would cut into my other reading/etc time (want to have some time for Esperanto, normal reading, chess, and other etc stuff).
My chess has been fluctuating lately. I was going to link to the Arrested Development clip where they were discussing grades at their floofy school where that was a euphemism for F or something like that but couldn't find it quickly, so, whatever. Lapses of attention, being tired, etc, that has really taken a bit out of the tournament performance.
Oh well.
Currently on "no cheese or eggs", hopefully can test out of eggs. Wouldn't be surprised if the cheese has to stay out.
Glancing idly at Chicago apartments because I'm planning on moving back there this summer. Haven't really made any connections here apart from chess, which is paradoxically a little more active here than in Chicago.
