Print Story A book I wrote

I wrote a book. As many of you have heard, no doubt.

Anyway, it's available now.

So the book is called Ravynscroft. It's another novel set in the same world, but with only incidental intersections, with my first (published) novel, Necessary Lies. The two can be read in either order.

It started out being a heavily fictionalized grief memoir, but the odd thing about characters is once you create them, they're real, and they make their own decisions given their situation. In a very real sense, you could call the book an indictment of monogamy. I didn't know I felt that way, but my characters sure do.

Anyway, I had a grand time writing it, trying to make it make sense, with just what's on the paper and not the twice that much stuff I wrote that's now backstory. It does lend an atmosphere of reality to the narrative, in my opinion, because there is actually stuff going on offstage, and the characters remember it. Anyway, it's a tale of our hero pulling herself together, using whatever pieces of herself she could find, with a little help from her friends.

It's available as an e-book for Kindles or Kindle emulator software, and also on paper. It's a heftier physical object than Necessary Lies, so the physical avatar costs more. I'll be ordering in some number of paper copies for local sales and for silly people who want autographed copies (retail plus shipping was the deal last time). How many should I order?

That link: Ravynscroft.

If you'd care to leave a review either there on Amazon or on Goodreads, it will be greatly appreciated. Anything else you want to say about it is also welcome.

My friend and downstairs neighbor created a pretty wonderful cover for it, and then I annoyed her by asking her to use photoshop to put front cover, spine, and back cover together into the single file the publisher wants. She paints pet portraits as a retirement hobby, and volunteers at a pet shelter. So I made some donations to the latter cause for her trouble, and I should probably write her another check.

When I get time from reading Python books, I'll give your book a try.

I wrote a book on Amazon but it didn't do well, it was only a short story about a thing called a Neurochip implanted into the head and how it enslaves people.
