It is very hard to throw a sitting president out of office. Trump was acquitted by the Senate.

Democrats can't even count votes in Iowa, the app had an error and this is not an improvement from hanging chad on the mainframe cards.

What's next Democrats?

I doubt any of them running can beat Trump in November. I could be wrong, but Trump seems bulletproof. No matter how ridiculous he tweets he still has followers.

The Democrats are fighting each other giving Trump material for his next election run. If only they agreed to work together to fix things and issues it might be better.

Is it the Civil War 2.0? Reds vs. Blues? Will states start to cede from the union like California?

Bulletproof? by wumpus (4.00 / 1) #1 Sun Feb 09, 2020 at 07:37:53 PM EST
I wouldn't call a 40% approve/50% disapprove "bulletproof". His base will follow him to the bottom, but it all comes down to the rust belt states. They might have surprised Hillary (who somehow seemed to have forgotten every lesson from 2000), but I doubt the primary winner will ignore the electoral college. I'm guessing getting marginal supporters to the polls will be far more important than convincing alleged "swing" voters.

US Politics has been like this since GHWBush lost, but probably only "polarized" compared to post-War US politics (earlier politics was worse). Without something as obvious as slavery, I doubt we'll see a fourth* war.

Wumpus

* English Civil War**, American Revolution, American Civil War. The Cousins' Wars.

** I've described the right wing coalition as the merger of the cavaliers and roundheads. That really isn't quite Trump's base, and it isn't clear what the post-Trump rightwing will look like.

What do the democrats offer? by Orion Blastar (2.00 / 0) #3 Sun Feb 09, 2020 at 10:29:12 PM EST
Their only issue seems to be hate Trump beat Trump. That and socialism.

Trump might have a low approval rate but he still has support and he is a better choice than any democrat out there as they are virtually useless.

a redeeming value in the democratic candidates that would allow them to beat Trump on November.

I thought Clinton would run again or maybe John Kerry, but nope.

Dems refuse to vote by Orion Blastar (2.00 / 0) #7 Tue Feb 11, 2020 at 11:24:48 PM EST
and don't trust election results.

Can't even count the votes in Iowa, how can they count the votes for the nation? We are dealing with fools and idiots here.

Future of the US by jimgon (4.00 / 1) #2 Sun Feb 09, 2020 at 08:35:17 PM EST
I don’t know where it goes. The US Government is on the verge of a legitimacy crisis.

the next election we got a nanny state that can review your Twitter account:

395 pages of the person using the f word. Wants to kill tyrants and disable governments. Found to be a risk in hiring. We are all screwed unless we delete our social networking accounts.

Democrats want a nanny state with SJWs running it. Trump wants a dictatorship with him in control.

I weep for America.

and it will happen again.

They think Mickey Mouse can beat Trump. But they don't have any good ideas or good leaders to do it. A big name like Clinton or Kerry could do it, but not these so called know it alls.

That is why they tried to impeach Trump, they knew they couldn't beat him in November 3, 2020. But it didn't work.
