Print Story is lunix ready for the desktop?

so i got a laptop and was like, okay, it's got windows 10, let's try to dual boot.

it was like uefi but not secure boot.

So I downloaded Fedora onto a stick and got a guide and tried to install based on the instructions. It was a little hazy because there weren't really clear instructions about making the partitions yourself, but, okay, whatever, I think I've got it figured out. Besides setting up the partitions, really, there weren't that many places to make choices on the setup utility, frankly.

Aaaaaaand it doesn't boot, it dumps the moment it gets into GRUB and goes in circles.

Okay, I try to install again, same result. Fortunately, at least it boots off the stick.

Then I say, okay, screw it, I'm downloading Windows recovery and nuking things. Aaaand it doesn't boot off the Windows stick, so it's all moot.

Well, I'll figure something out. I'm ultimately willing to just nuke things and do only Linux (or only Windows).

Conservatives are finally admitting that maybe my congressman is at least a little bit racist.

In other countries, failure to pass a budget like this usually means some kind of automatic restructuring: snap election, resignations, that kind of thing.

So some of you have followed my mouse saga. We left some cookies in the glove compartment for a couple days and a mouse ate them. It appears the mouse stuck around, but we caught and killed it. Also it ate some wires in the car and now turning on the heater/AC will shut off the car. Fun. I really hope that's all that's wrong and we can just keep going without that. We reeeeally don't quite have the liquidity to deal with this at the moment.

Using Pocket lately, it seems Very Good.

We're goign to have to clean the house quite a bit for our sanity. Maybe that one show will help or maybe not. I don't know.

Still biking around a little bit. My elbows have been a little sore since taking a slight break over Thanksgiving for travel and illness. I had tendonitis in the one earlier this fall and got over it, but it came back a little when I started pressing again after that break, which was really kind of annoying. So that's been slowing things down. When I hop on the stationary bike, it's typically in the  low-to-mid-80s rpm, modest effort.

I had a punchcard for free coffee today and then somebody at the office had free coffee out so I'm irresponsibly coffee'd right now. I'm not jittery, I just feel crummy digestively or something.

Anyway, it's about time to punch out. Toodles!

should run less than $10 at Harbor Freight, and you should be able to find a wiring harness diagram on the interwebs.

Maybe throw in some generio Mechanix gloves and you can probably work on your car outside without getting frostbite.

I got Ubuntu to install, fortunately by gzt (4.00 / 0) #3 Mon Apr 01, 2019 at 11:25:30 AM EST
