A log of training, as I've not been out on the bike.

Wednesday Aug 30th. 60 minutes Eliptical.
Friday Sept 1st. 30 minutes Eliptical intervals.
Monday Sept 4th. 30 minutes Eliptical intervals. 2 Push ups.
Wednesday Sept 6th. 34 hour fasting.
Thursday Sept 7th. 60 minutes Sufferfest training.
Friday Sept 8th. 22 hours fasting.
Weekend. Nothing. Lazy weekend.
Monday Sept 11th. 22 hours fasting.
Tuesday Sept 12th. 40 minutes Sufferfest training.
Wednesday Sept 13th. 22 hours fasting.
Thursday Sept 14th. 40 minutes Sufferfest training.

I can feel some fitness returning, slowly.

Fasting Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Gym Tuesday and Thursday.
Try and fit a ride in at the weekend.

Current weight. 132.7kg.

I've started doing intermittent fasting. Low carb has been the only diet that ever really worked for me, but it's not really sustainable long term. It's a lot to ask to work around other people, going out etc.
Fasting is a lot easier. I have normal meals one day, then the next day I just have dinner. 22 hours without food. Finding it pretty easy, get a bit hungry during the day, but nothing major. I'm not pigging out at night either.
I'm not exercising on fasting days yet, just getting used to it first. When I'm a bit fitter I'll see about doing some strength training on fasting days.

So, it's going ok. Could be faster, but I'm in a routine I'm pretty happy with. Fitness is improving. We'll see if the fasting helps with the weight. If not then I'll look at changing that some more.

I think the main thing is just getting in the habit again. As the 5BX plan says: "When you start, defeat the first desire to skip a day; then defeat all such desires as they occur... the longer you do it the more you will enjoy it."

Going running in a howling fucking gale now fuck...

but it takes a while to get in the groove.

I'm generally managing to get on the bike about 5 times a week, which is progress for me. Yesterday felt a bit stronger than before which was a good feeling. Baby steps for me...
