Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. First in a series. After the death of his grandfather a teenager discovers a group of children with supernatural abilities, pursued by monsters. Pretty good book. Not a hugely original concept, but well executed, seems to be trying to be a bit earthier than Harry Potter though not going as far as the Magician trilogy. Has an interesting gimmick in that the story is woven around found photographs. Will probably look out for later volumes and see how they go.
At work I'm now down to doing two projects at once instead three. Takes a bit of the pressure off, but it looks a bit bad because I had to hand over one of them without completing it, and the date had to slip a few weeks.
We got a new CEO a year ago and things seem to be getting chaotic as he puts a new team and policies in place. Instead of a clear line between us and the customers I have to deal with three different POs and also a line manager who's trying to juggle the constantly changing priorities. Two of the POs are based offshore and don't have much contact with our (largely UK) actual customers. I get the feeling the new senior management have only a tenuous grasp of the business and the technology. They might also have the gung-ho attitude that regards pointing out obstacles as defeatist treachery. Maybe they'll get the hang of things though, the last CEOs company did pretty well apparently.

Brexit Britain: British Election Study Insights:
These data show that the EU referendum vote crystallised a political cleavage in much the same way as happened in the Scottish referendum. Unlike the Scottish referendum however, the EU referendum has not caused an immediate overhaul of the party system.
