Trying to concrete up the whole Husistock thing and see if it can fly for this year, but my plans have to change with the date.

 Hello Husi!

So, we have been thinking about Husistock and still wanna make it go, but I have a Juniors Tournament now on the July 5-6 weekend, which was the weekend we had husistock last time, and what I'd mentioned when talking about it earlier.

So, I have some other choices in dates and am throwing them out here to let you guys discuss and see if plans would still be plausible. I'm sorry to have to modify but it's a big deal finally getting to be a part of a tournament with my juniors. So, please vote in the voting thingy, and comment away. You can choose any and all dates which would work for you.

Your story intrigues me by marvin (4.00 / 1) #1 Thu Feb 06, 2014 at 01:03:34 PM EST
I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. I had prior commitments on the July 6 date, but could probably make it to the July 19-20.

My wife's grandparents live out in a care home near Waterloo or Hamilton or something. It shouldn't be too hard to convince her to ditch the kids at home with one of our parents, and visit her grandparents and aunts/uncles out in Ontario too.

we have a hell-vacation we can't get out of in July (can't remember the dates, I'm blocking the whole thing out), but early August could work.

This means we need to get on the passport train STAT!

Hmm, we were already likely not going to be about to make the 5-6th, so exciting news all around. We're planning a drive in the opposite direction then, but will be returning to the upper midwest for the latter half of July into August.. probably Aug 2-3 is the easiest for us in the current schedule, and July 25-26 is better odds than the old date for sure.

Still fingers crossed that this works out! Also, fun tournament news!

That is tempting... by atreides (2.00 / 0) #16 Fri Feb 07, 2014 at 09:59:17 PM EST
...but, being more adult now with less time, I may have to fly in and out. But the idea of a mini-road trip with you guys sounds lovely. :)

The date by jimgon (4.00 / 1) #9 Fri Feb 07, 2014 at 06:12:34 AM EST
I'm more of the "give me a date and I'll see if it works. July 16th is my 20th anniversary though and would be a no go.

Those dates are on and around my annual Men's Camping weekend, 25-29.  I'm not sure I can make any of them, but if I could it would be the earlier dates.

But it's a way for my friends, whom nearly all have spawned, to get away from the kids and wife for three or so days every year.  I think we've been doing it for....16 years now?

Congratulations on the tournament! by ambrosen (4.00 / 2) #11 Fri Feb 07, 2014 at 09:58:24 AM EST
I have no idea how much time I'll be spending in the Great Lakes region over the next 6 months or so, but there's a chance I can make myself be there on whatever date you guys choose. And I'd love to see Toronto.

i'm in. by misslake (4.00 / 2) #17 Mon Feb 10, 2014 at 06:15:58 PM EST
pretty much whenever.
and let me know if you need help.
i can come up say, 3-4 weeks before with a little bit of stuff and we could start some cider so it would be ready to go, cheap abundant booze for the weekend.

later in the year works better for me anyway. by dev trash (4.00 / 1) #18 Tue Feb 11, 2014 at 10:34:24 PM EST
But whenever is pretty much good.
