Well, that's nice.

It's Holy Week right now. Not observing radio silence because I am at work.

I think I'll try to make a decision today or something. I'll see if I got the offer letter from PSU in the mail. But I'm thinking ISU - research fit at both is about the same, rank is the same, ISU doesn't have a church and their logo sucks, but PSU makes it too hard to travel to and from places I need to go. ISU is in the middle of nowhere, but it's a "middle of nowhere" with places I need to visit. Especially as, eg, my grandmother isn't likely to survive my PhD program. Hey, I still have friends in the general area, too, and some of them aren't losers. Both are a better research fit and have a better reputation than OSU, IMO, though OSU's money was enticing. But I should at least chat with the people at PSU before deciding for certain, it's always nice to at least chat.

Church for Palm Sunday (note: we got a week behind somehow and are trying to catch up) featured the choir going for some rather intense and twiddly stuff. At one point it was a bit much and it drug on for a little bit, but it was usually nice.

We're moving around on the floor on Wednesday. Gotta pack up all my crap. I'll take this as an opportunity to bring home a lot of my personal effects. Well, I'm keeping an umbrella and a spare shirt at the office still.

We had fish and chips at the pub last night. It was okay. Caught the end of the Masters. Not really a golf fan, but it at least kept my attention when I wasn't eating or drinking beer.

I haven't really been reading much lately. Just on the commute. My evenings are either homework (meh) or decompressing on the internets (meh).

I need a nap. I like nap.

I also like beer. But I won't have any this week.

Fools everywhere pass on the wholly inadequate "Machete" order of viewing Star Wars. Essentially, you watch IV, V, II, III, and VI. This is wholly inadequate. I suggest the following order: IV, V, IV, V, VI. You may include multiple other viewings of IV as needed. This is obviously superior because each individual movie in the list is as good as or better than every movie in the first last. Also, it contains all the backstory you need to understand the tragic history of Darth Vader, one of the principle arguments people use for the "Machete" order. I can't think of any reason why the "Machete" order is better than the order I posted. I sincerely cannot.

I've never seen III by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #1 Mon Apr 09, 2012 at 03:52:22 PM EST
I paid my hard earned cash to see I and II in the theater, and decided I couldn't trust Lucas anymore.

III was the best of the bunch by gzt (2.00 / 0) #2 Mon Apr 09, 2012 at 04:19:32 PM EST
That's not saying much. I only watched it a couple years ago after doing the same thing as you.

It still had a lot of problems by gzt (2.00 / 0) #3 Mon Apr 09, 2012 at 04:21:57 PM EST
There are a lot of holes in the "descent to Vader" story. This is why the gzt order just keeps all that mess out of the story. I mean, when IV was written, Vader wasn't even Luke's father yet.

I've never seen Star Wars:Send in the Clones by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #4 Tue Apr 10, 2012 at 08:37:51 AM EST
Jar Jar's Revenge was bad enough. Never saw all of Vader Kills Kiddies, either.

Earth First!
(We can strip mine the rest later.)
