We will have a good trip. I hate all this sitting, work has me sitting a lot lately.
I have some crap to do at work before I go.
Annoying bit: I had all of today blocked off on my calendar, though I was planning on coming in and leaving at noon. Why take the whole day off if I'm leaving in the evening? I'm saving my PTO a bit because I have a planned exit. Somebody bumped a meeting that I really really have to be from yesterday until today at 11:30-12:30. I accepted and sent a note saying, "Hey, my calendar is blocked off, but I will be here. I was planning on leaving at noon, but I can certainly accomodate this change in meeting times." They can see that I have the day blocked off when they try to schedule the meeting. A couple hours later, they try to reschedule it to 1:00-2:00. Grr. I accept, since I can in fact do that, but this change, without even a note justifying the rescheduling, involves their ignoring both my calendar's indication and my explicit written instructions that this is a bad time for me.
I am at around page 340 of Debt. This is surprisingly close to the end, even though it looks like a 517-page book. There are approximately 130 pages of end material between footnotes, bibliography, and indices. There are some wonky bits so far, but still very good.
The only downside of this trip: no sound system. We don't typically listen to things much in the car, but having the option available is nice. Otherwise, it's just, "Mock! YEAH! Ing! YEAH! Bird! YEAH!..."
Yesterday we were discussing going to some conference in a couple months here in $CITY. $VP was thinking about how to scrounge up funds, as it should be good. $BOSS then got this morning an invitation to be a keynote speaker at the conference. Ha! Unfortunately, we haven't done anything interesting lately, so she'll probably decline. They even use "data science" as a tagline to describe what we do. Ha! I really need to be paid more.
I need to get some kind of reading material for the trip. Hrm. Besides my textbooks.
Okay, I really need to finish off this work.
