The Bodyguard, Adelphi Theatre, London, 7:30pm 14th Nov

Update [2012-11-15 8:58:21 by anonimouse]: Well, that went well... apart from...

 I will always luuuuuuve yooooooooooou.....[/whitney]

With some trepidation, I booked the tickets for The Bodyguard; I was slightly dubious about doing so because whatever else can be said about Whitney Houston, at her peak she was a tremendous singer and I suspected that anything slightly below that would be a let down.

Unfortunately I haven't brought a printer down to the house where I'm staying, so I had a cunning plan to print the tickets off at work, ruined by the late realisation that the printers are encoded to print when presented with your ID badge, which I had left at the start of the week in the Midlands, and my temporary pass didn't do the job.

Fortunately the woman who I'm sharing the house with saved the day by letting me use her printer.

I had a work meeting scheduled for 3:30 to 4:30, and the plan was to leave the office and get changed before heading into London, but 5:00pm found me nervously watching the clock surrepticiously as the meeting dragged on. Only at 5:15pm was I able to scramble to my car ( parking ticket from parking in residents only zone - damn) and then find that the town traffic had gone to hell and breakfast meaning that a 2 mile trip back to my house took me 30 minutes. Showering, liberal deoderent use and changing into SuperMan outfit took me 15 minutes.

Got onto the Paddington train, which was both prompt and fast and arrived at the theatre for 7:20 only to find my date, despite her assurances she was a "super close" taxi ride away hadn't realised that "super close" in London takes eons and didn't show till 7:45. I'm just glad the tickets were for the back of the Dress Circle close to the centre aisle.

The show was A+++ would do again, with Heather Headley providing a great rendition and the end of the show had anonimouse and date boogying to "I wanna dance with somebody".

We piled out of the show and decided not to join the queue/scrum for a taxi immediately, but find a bar. I found some steps leading down to a basement bar, but thought I'd made a mistake going down the steps, only to find some double doors opened onto a very nice bistro. A bottle of wine went down very well and a slightly tipsy anonimouse became much more chatty. Confessing that I did smoke the odd cigarette occassionally lead us to raiding the off licence and smoking a cigarette before kissing date goodnight and heading for the train.

At this point you may have noticed that no sex has taken place yet. I apologise to the reader but there are promising signs in the form of a text message I got thanking me for the evening and wanting to take our relationship more seriously.

Unfortunately I ended up on the stop at every minor platform train instead of the direct train, so it wasn't till 2am this morning that I managed to get home and crash.

First comment when I came into work this morning was a question asking why my hair was sticking out in all directions
