I was at church, so I stepped out to take the call, and it was just my parents wishing me happy birthday. Oh, well, gee, okay, thanks! Nobody's dead. It was early in the morning, so I hope they interpreted that as just being awkward when I first get up.

I put in an application at $REINSURER_THAT_IS_RIGHT_NEXT_DOOR. I think my skillset and experiences pretty well match what they're looking for, but you never know if they'll respond. After doing so, I double-checked, and it seems that it's the same company and department probably where this girl I used to know's husband works, but in a different state. I don't know if that would be awkward.

I went to Chipotle last night. They raised the prices by $.50 since the last time I was there. I disapprove. Now Burrito Beach is far cheaper. It could just be the one location - they are right downtown, after all.

Teh wifing unit moved my shoes! I put them there (by the bedroom door) because I was leaving early in the morning to go to church (see above). When I got up, they had moved. It didn't matter so much, in the end, as I got to the train right when it pulled into the station and a bus came right when I got off the train, so the few seconds I lost trying to figure out where my shoes went were irrelevant.

So I've just kind of discovered reddit. It seems pretty okay. I knew about it before, but I started looking at it at couple days ago. It makes me wonder how exactly the filtering mechanisms work at work. There are some subreddits that are blocked, and probably rightly so. There are also individual wikipedia pages that are blocked (typically anything involving sex), so it's not a matter of simple domain blocking.

We bunged up getting the gas connected, so we're still without gas until next Tuesday. I took a cold shower this morning. I know it's stereotypical, but I suppose this really does keep my libido down? If only because I don't want to have to shower.

Oh, crikey, EEO reporting is going to be a bear. A big, annoying bear. At a certain point, it involves manual data entry into a government web site. I might see about making it so I produce the reports and some other resource does the data entry off the reports. There has to be an intern somewhere. It's a development oppportunity. At the very least, I can split it with the guy who's supposed to be learning how to be my backup. I'll just jot a quick note to $MANAGER and see how this gets managed.

Hey,  meeting rescheduled, I get an hour back, yay. Here I was, at 1:15, trying to grab a sandwich and eat it quickly before a 1:30. And somebody had just chased me into the bathroom to let me know that I wouldn't need to do some work they had thought up for me to do, so that's also good.
