guess who got given a brand new (developer only edition) Nokia phone, that's right yours truly your humble servant TPD... It's the N950 which is the "developers edition" of the Nokia N9, only with a keyboard and a slightly lesser battery...
It is VERY nice, Nokia and the Meego community have released a few of these developer devices to get some prerelease N9 content - I think the N9 is due for release in September, and while I it was a hopeful punt applying, the couple of apps I have been developing managed to persuade the various powers that I was one of the 250 community developers worthy of receiving a device (huzzah and thanks powers!).
Initial thoughts are very positive, while I am unsure as to whether I would stump up the money for a keyboard-less version that's only because I would find it difficult to buy ANY phone with out a keyboard. The UI is Slick and for the most part the button free swipe system works a treat... the most major disadvantage seems to be a lack of a consistent close mechanism - having to swipe away and then close through the multi-tasking screen (unless I am missing something disturbingly obvious). Development so far has been not much more than playing around and trying to port the UIs from my apps but I hope to get a few hours this weekend to make some more significant strides.
Shame Nokia are end-of-lining their MeeGo/Maemo, though if Nokia port the interface (I can't believe QT/QML won't make it over) on-top of WP7, it could be less of a joke platform than it is now.
Also I am not in any circles.... (having failed G+ invites, I got one sent to a yahoo address), also it's the boys party woooo 6!!!!! Also watching Arrested Development I hd fogotten just HOW GOOD they were.... Bob Loblaw, is the best name for a character ever..... FACT!
