Are you seriously suggesting a man accused of 19 murders in which he was a participant as well as countless additional crimes as head of an organised crime family should be left alone simply because he was vicious enough to stay alive long enough to need a cane?

Under current United States federal regulations, only the term 'lamb' is used:
Lamb — ovine animals of any age, including ewes and rams.
The term 'mutton' is rare, and 'hogget' unknown, in the United States.
A simple s/lamb/lam/g would have sufficed, but you had to try to get fancy ...
