Did you know, that if you call your local police, even in a big city, and tell them you're going to make a very loud noise, they won't send anyone out to find out exactly what it is you did to make that very loud noise when you do? At least it seems to work for us. Even if that noise sounds suspiciously like a small explosion.
I'm wiped out. Four big tests in four weeks, all very successful, and leaving our customer happy, and me exhausted. Three of the tests were in the middle of the desert, the loud one behind our building. Unfortunately the middle of the desert tests involve getting up a couple hours before sunrise. Couple the fact that I'm not a morning person with the fact that I was pretty much responsible for the tests, and I got about zip sleep the night before each of them. After the third and final desert test my boss told me he thought I was the only person working for him that could have pulled them off.
I'm going back to $big_project soon, and apparently part of my role will be helping my boss keep track of what everyone is doing, and make sure everyone is making progress towards $big_review. This will be interesting, I'm pretty sure there will be a couple who will not be happy that I'm in a quasi-supervisory role over them. Hopefully my boss will let everyone know what the situation is so they won't think I'm just trying to take authority I don't have.
Fun times ahead, to be sure.
