The fog started rolling in off the lake just after I got to work this morning. Good times.

It's now June, so it's time to switch things up to an olympic weightlifting style template, since I have a competition in six weeks. Woo. In other news, though, I was fiddling around with the Nautilus pullover machine yesterday. Good stuff, really stretched my shoulders out, made things feel good after benching.

Wedding this weekend. Hung out with choir afterwards. Good times and plenty of tacos were had by all. Nearly died laughing at some of the discussion about spousal complaints about sharing the bed. Seriously, it was painful and I couldn't breathe.

If I don't get something back tomorrow, I'll have to bug that place. Our order got sent back by UPS and they got it late last week. I sent them a note saying that UPS bounced my order back. They haven't responded and I haven't seen anything on the credit card statement yet indicating they've refunded me, but there was a holiday weekend and stuff takes time to show up. I just want my damn stuff. I'm willing to pay to have it shipped again.

We watched The Adventures of Robin Hood last night. Good times. We were thinking of It Happened One Night or The Princess Bride (since we had never seen the latter together), but ran into this one and had to go for it.

We also went for a walk last night: very good. It was cool and just rained, but long enough ago that it wasn't too wet everywhere. Teh Wife is thinking of getting Five Fingers like I have. I should mention that they can start to feel a little sweaty if you wear them for several hours at a stretch and they should be washed every few uses (just throw them in the washer). Soaking in vinegar helps if they develop a smell.

I'm going to a baseball game tonight. Woo. I haven't followed baseball in, like, 15 years. I played, but didn't follow. I might spend a lot of the game discussing the science and practice of strength training because I can't imagine what else I might be able to say anything about with this guy. Certainly not baseball (see above: I do not follow baseball).

FACT: Both Paul Anderson and Louis Cyr, two notorious old time strongmen, had "Bright's Disease", now typically described as chronic nephritis and classified by its actual cause. Is this the secret to their strength? No, it's not, it's just an interesting coincidence.

such a great intro to talking about al and tipper gore separating..

can you do yoga better in the 5-finger shoes ?

No smack talk about the hawks up 2-nil on philly ? Geeze.

Pull over machine aggravates my shoulders.. pull down machines, pull ups, etc don't, but the pull over machine (and flat bench) sure do..

whoa, the gores are separating? by gzt (2.00 / 0) #2 Tue Jun 01, 2010 at 02:12:20 PM EST

You can do yoga much better in these shoes. And crossfit, apparently, since the web site specifically mentions both. maybe i can sign teh wife up for yoga, pilates, and crossfit once she gets these shoes, the holy trinity of overpriced, overhyped, yuppie-milf-oriented fitness trends.

I definitely don't follow hockey.

yeah, some people get aggravated, some people find it's like magic shoulder juju that stretches them in just the right way. I think I might be in the magic shoulder juju camp, but, then, my shoulders are pretty good except that my left shoulder and pec seem a little tight (my back is a different story). benching aggravates everybody. it's just brutal.
