It's not actually mine per say but I can use it. I can read now.
To me it doesn't matter how I got it now, it just matters that I got it NOW!
Did I tell you I was excited and overly happy? Well I am. I got the book "Changes" by Jim Butcher today.
I am(was) on the request que for the book at the library which still has it as on order. Same library that is now financially in deep doodoo and was not too long ago talking about closing several branches. So my hopes for get the book this year to read was nil and depressing.
When my luck changed for the better. I went to my local movie store where my neighbor's son works. We were chit chatting because we share a common reading interest, when he tells me he has The Book. Of course my eyes got big and wide and my jaw dropped down a little. I am sure for a split second I had a wild, crazy look on my face, but only for a split second. I calmly asked if I could borrow it after he finished reading it. Of course, he says sure and that it will probably be this summer before he gets around to it.
I make some quick calculations and backtrack my thoughts. I come up with a new plan. I said, "Can I borrow it now? I can read it with in the next few days and give it back to you by next week."
He replies, "Sure. I will be home tomorrow from 12:30 to 4:00 if you want to come by and get it."
And I did! I will be 75 pages into the book before I go to bed tonight. It is Sooooooo Goooooood!!
I really like that neighbor kid. He is my new bestest friend. Night All!
