Print Story Finally got that nonsense to work.

We played Mare Nostrum yesterday afternoon. Then we played some Clue and watched a couple episodes of Star Trek. All in all, a nice day. The day before, we were also social all day. Woo.

Dune continues to be awesome. But it's odd: one of the sci-fi-geekiest people I know these days, who even used to have a bookstore, has not read Dune.

The other day I was doing bench presses and missed the upright when racking by going over it on one side. I was shocked, for a moment, as my left arm kept going back and started rotating down, but I managed to guide it to the ground without destroying my shoulder, the bar, or the flooring. I was worried about the shoulder.

Teh Wife is out tonight, I'll have to make sure to get plenty of things done while she's out. I might put another coat of finish on those chairs, actually. But, yeah, I've got a few things on the agenda. Teh Parents are coming by this weekend. Need to get things up to snuff around the place first.

Work: mostly BS.

Gotta call people up about taking courses.

Gotta eat lunch.

Gotta care.

My right shoulder by technician (2.00 / 0) #2 Tue Jan 12, 2010 at 11:09:35 AM EST
is forever (well, not forever, as it can now be replaced by some sort of bionic equivalent that has USB, Bluetooth, and a GPSA chip) fucked due to improper form on a set of very heavy lifts way back in the day. I forgot to arch my back and lay my shoulders in the "right" way, and by the end of it my right shoulder started sounding like it had sand in it.

That was way back when, though. Now when I do anything with it, it has a hitch and it'll do its best to stop me, but I just motor through the ripping noise and spend my post-workout break drinking protein and crying like a little girl. You know. Like anyone would.

yeah, fortunately it wasn't maximal. by gzt (2.00 / 0) #3 Tue Jan 12, 2010 at 11:29:08 AM EST

Plus, if you get really big you won't fit into anything. I have an old suit jacket cut to fit me back then. It looks freaking awful.

Not that I wore it for more than a funeral and one wedding, but still. I looked like a baptist preacher on steroids. A standover man with a conscience. And a bum shoulder.
