Rufus Lee King.

Plus,  birthday party, Born Losers, The Last Battle, sick house part two and less.

Poll: Favorite biker movie?

We have wet spots on our bedroom ceiling. I'm hoping it's just a backed up gutter, otherwise I have to find the warranty, as the roof is only five years old. It's near the eaves, so that's a likely hypothesis. I just need a nice day, and to be feeling better, I still feel like crap. I'm not the only one feeling like crap, seven year old throw up Tuesday night, stayed home Wednesday, went to school Thursday and threw up getting off the bus. Sick House, the sequel.

Sunday we went to Buffalo for my mother in law's birthday party. I ended up talking with a niece quite a bit, it's odd to talk to her as a adult when I remember her as a kindergartner, but having kids will age you. Another niece her age still seems like a kid, even though she graduated college and has a good job. In other family news, Aunt FLo is visiting again, she hasn't visited since February.

I finished Cornelius Ryan's The Last Battle, about the fight for Nazi Berlin in the spring of 1945. If there was justice in the world, Munich would have been ravished by the Russians, not Berlin, it's a pretty sad in how the rear echelon Russians took their revenge.

TMC had biker movie night earlier this week, we watched the end of The Wild One, and then got sucked into The Born Losers, which is the first Billy Jack movie. Somewhat based on a highly publicized Hell's Angel rape case in Monterey, it's about how a biker gang terrorizes a small resort town. Billy Jack, who is supposed to be an Indian, stands up to them at first (he's a crack one handed rifle shot), but gets a higher fine for defending some stupid driver than the bikers get for beating the driver up. Later the bikers gang rape some young teenage girls, including bikini wearing Yamaha 2-stroke riding Vicky (Elizabeth James), and attempt to prevent them from testifying. Billy finally steps in to help Vikcy. The bad biker gang weren't the usual black leather clad Nazi wannabees, but more like hippies on bikes, but this was made in 1967, and did use an actual gang (much like Mad Max). For a revenge pic, it was relatively restrained, but then it was early in the genre. I have to track down the next movie, Billy Jack. One thing about writing, producing, directing and starring in your own movie, you can let yourself be the only decent man in it.

Other than the obvious, not too much planned this weekend. Tomorrow we may get a break from the kids for last minute shopping, as Mrs. Ha hasn't had much a break in the last two weeks. Maybe we'll break in Catan, too.

Perimenopause is more likely, she's in her mid 40's.

at a good Last Battle post. The last time this popped up (gods know where) I was able to suggest that Disney had better do some good work on that scene where a unicorn impales one swarthy dude and the King decapitates the other. Whenever will I get another chance?

A few martinis away from a drunken diary...
