What else?
I recently finished Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde. Lots of fun, and kind of like Peter Schikele (aka PDQ Bach) in that the more you know about literature (music in the case of PDQ) the funnier his stuff is. You have to love a main character named Thursday Next.
We saw the Coraline movie (based on a nearly perfect young-adult novel by Neil Gaiman) the first weekend it was out. It was delightfully creepy, and the 3D effects didn't really overwhelm the story. Well, except for one during the opening credits where you get a needle in the eye, but there's a point to that, as well. Highly recommended, and as Gaiman says in his blog, this is the only chance to see it in 3D, since that technology doesn't translate to DVD. It occurs to me that it's been a long time since I saw animation that wasn't computer-generated (maybe Chicken Run?). And I mean in the theaters, not on youtube, where there's a new blossoming of the stop-motion music video.
This is one very cool picture. (SFW)
Speaking of pictures, I have an idea for the Things that make you Hot photo phun challenge. Haven't been able to actually get it to come out the way I envision it, but.
We've had lots of fun with our wii. I'm liking the balance games in wii fit. What are your favorite wii things, you wiiites? I have a tab open to 606's WiiToMidi thing, though I have yet to do anything with it.
And we in USia are having another holiday; at least the postal orifice is closed, and those of us who follow the federal calendar. Holidays are nice, if only because the Sunday doesn't feel quite so rushed.
