So we went to NYC recently and had a gay old time. Note, though: more care needs to be taken with plane reservations. I thought the flight back was at 10. It was at 9. Fortunately, they managed to get us on the 10.

There was some wedding or other that we went to. The groomsmen and such all wore notch-lapel flap-pocketed dinner jackets during the daytime with neckties and high-cut waistcoats, but that's their prerogative.

Speaking of dinner jackets, it seems Joseph A Banks has all sorts of dinner jackets and even a tailcoat on sale for pretty cheap at the moment for their bottom-of-the-line stuff, but I'm not in the market or interested at the moment. Though, hmm, a tailcoat... I'm slightly disappointed in the dinner jackets: all have flap pockets.

Speaking of clothes, I should drop by the suit shop in the neighborhood where I got my trousers cuffed, they're going out of business and are having a clearance sale. I could use more suits, my chest has expanded since I got 2 of my 4 suits. Or just trousers. It's always helpful to have more wool trousers for the wardrobe.

I recommended the article about "Schrodinger's Rapist" today to somebody. Two people. They're idiots.

More vegetarian cooking with beans is needed. But, yes, fuul, chickpeas, etc, these are to be cornerstones of the new world order.

I remembered what that one vegetable soup I was suggesting was missing: lentils. One of my former roommates used to make a big hearty vegetable soup and live off it for a long time, and I was thinking about what was in it and all that jazz besides like potatoes and carrots and stuff, and only now recalled that it had lentils in it. Very important. At least, I think they were there. Hm.

We watched some Fringe last night. We are almost done with Season 1, which may leave us in a lurch: they have already removed the first bits of S2 from Hulu, so we may have to wait until the DVDs of S2 are out. Or something. Also: does Astrid ever, like, do anything? I feel like she really ought to do more, since she is, after all, an FBI agent.

I started Antoine de St Exupery's book Wind, Sand, and Stars. Good so far. Makes decent train reading. I'm about 50 pages in. I stole it from my wife. Shh! Don't tell.
