I will be passing through London (en route to Canuckistan) on 10 July and 28 July. Apart from stocking up on pies, I could probably use a beer. Anyone up for drinks?

Oh, of course I also wish to meet any and all Canucki Hussites between those dates!

My flight out to Torontorontoro is 11 July 11:15 am from Gatwick. I was thinking of arriving on 10 July evening and going on the piss, and entrusting the resultant hangover to aircraft plumbing. And I come back on 28 July at 10 am, and could probably use a drink then too. Who's in?

On July 29th, La Plebe should be playing in London (venue is still TBA). If I could afford the time off and the flight (really it's a balance of flight vs time off I can spend abroad), I would be going to that show and conveniently attending a LHusi drinks or something.

But you all should make sure komet stays in London a couple days and all go together. In my stead, so to speak. Or just because they fucking rock.

I, for one, say we should do it by Herring (2.00 / 0) #2 Fri May 23, 2008 at 02:24:44 PM EST
I'm not sure what "it" is, but it probably involves beer.

Let's drink!

My couch is, of course, available for most of the time, but I'll be involved in a roadtrip from Toronto to Montréal on July 17th-July 20. You should come. We'll drink once we get there.

I'd be interested to see The House and more importantly The Shed. Is your email still the same?

That sounds great. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #10 Sat May 24, 2008 at 12:47:38 PM EST
But I'm just booking my flights to Vancouver going out at the end of July and coming back mid-August. But boozing in London sounds absolutely great some time.

What airline? by komet (2.00 / 0) #11 Sat May 24, 2008 at 12:49:39 PM EST
If you find a cheaper flight than mine then I will fucking kill you.

The dates are fixed as I have already booked. We should drink on the 10th.

No chance. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #12 Sat May 24, 2008 at 01:43:28 PM EST
You're only flying half the distance, you're outside English school holidays, etc, etc.

It'll be either Fly Zoom or Air Transat, I guess. I'll get it booked some time this week. And yeah, it's expensive, but my mental health demands it (long story), so cheap at twice the price.

FWIW by komet (2.00 / 0) #13 Sat May 24, 2008 at 03:00:10 PM EST
I am on Air Transat (they say the outbound leg is operated by Thomas Cook, but Thomas Cook have the same flight listed as operated by Air Transat). I booked via http://www.canadianaffair.com and it was cheaper than the price directly from Air Transat. I paid about £440.

I'm not optimistic by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #14 Mon May 26, 2008 at 01:14:42 PM EST
About getting change from £600. But like I say, it's my best chance of being in a good place mentally come autumn. And the timing does matter.
