I win!

Plus, very short week for medical reasons, Crazy Love, Snowcake and less.

Poll: Guess my mileage.

I got home and didn't feel totally exhausted from all the allergens in the air, so I jumped right in an worked on the bike, checking connections, checking tire pressure, etc. It was good to go, so I went up and down the street a few times, and then eleven year old wanted a ride, so we went to Porsche-girls, all told almost two miles.

The forecast for rain was iffy, but since it was dry in the morning, I decided to risk and rode to work. I hope the rain holds off until I get home. This will be the first time since I've had it (since 2005, counting stickers) that I'll be able to ride it long enough to empty the tank with the carbs dialed in. Guess my mileage.

There's still a little oil dripping from underneath, but I think it's chain related, at least the pattern underneath was right underneath the chain.

In push bike news, I failed it fixing across_street_boy's bike, the front wheel popped out of the fork. In my defense, it was late, and I was tired from making dinner for Irish_girl and her kids. Other than the bike, it was a nice Friday night.

I'm looking at a five day weekend. We have Friday and Monday off, and eleven year old is having dental surgery tomorrow, so I took that off. Yeah, five days! I've penciled in long rides on the Kawi, trips to a state park, brewing and cuddling cats.

In other work news, Mrs. Ha had a good first day at the Dr's office.

I picked up Crazy Love at the library, thinking it was some sort of kookie love story like Eternal Sunshine. Nope, crazy doesn't mean wacky or kookie, it means sociopathically throwing acid in people's faces crazy. It was still good.

The other movie was Snow Cake, a story of a guy who befriends the autistic mother of a hitchhiker who died when his car got hit by a truck. We didn't finish it, it didn't grab us enough, and we spent most of the time comparing the autistic woman's acts to eleven year old's. But it's set in Canada, so if want to watch a movie about Canada, go for it.

After all...

"Alright," said Deep Thought. "The Answer to the Great Question ..."

"Yes ...!"

"Of Life, the Universe and Everything ..." said Deep Thought.

"Yes ...!"

"Is ..." said Deep Thought, and paused.

"Yes ...!"

"Is ..."

"Yes ...!!!...?"

"Forty-two," said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.

Earth First!
(We can strip mine the rest later.)
