It's (finally) that time again!!

12:59 < Six`wrk> need topic for next MFC. Next message in #husi will be it.
12:59 <@toxicfur> Six`wrk: aliens
12:59 <@ni> So let me tell you why I went to the mountains...
13:00 < Six`wrk> aliens it is
13:00 <@toxicfur> hooray!
13:00 < Six`wrk> aliens in the mountains

You heard her, the topic for the next MFC is aliens. Green ones, blue ones, grey ones with big eyes. Martians, Venusians, Mercurians, our friends from Planet X. Xenu, thetans in DC 9 jets, superintelligent shades of the colour blue. You name it, you can sing about it.

Alternately you can sing about immigrants. tf didn't necessarily specify extraterrestrial.

And if aliens aren't your thing your alternate topic is "ni's fantastic trip to the mountains".

The due date is Monday, May 5, 2008

Too silly?

Like I said, you can do ni's fabulous trip to the mountains (and what he found there) if you prefer.

I don't know how important author's intent by ni (4.00 / 3) #6 Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 01:22:50 PM EST
is to interpretation here, but for the record I did not mean me personally, but rather the protagonist of the song.

By the way, I liked Autechre's new album too. I saw them live with R343L, which is another story...

When I'm imprisoned as an enemy combatant, will you blog about it?

Argh by 606 (2.00 / 0) #3 Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 01:17:06 PM EST
SF gets the neatest concerts. I wish I could see Autechre live.

we left early by MillMan (4.00 / 2) #5 Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 01:22:49 PM EST
after being subjected to three hours of the worst electronic music I've heard in my life by the opening acts. I don't know if Autechre was good - we saw 20 minutes of their show. I was mentally shot. I will note that they had no visuals and you couldn't see them up on stage.

When I'm imprisoned as an enemy combatant, will you blog about it?

I'm not exactly picky about music -- if the crowd is into it, I usually can get into it. I went in liking the Autechre I've heard.

The openers were painful, especially this Rob Hall fellow (I think that was his name). Like 5 minutes of "ooh, this is kind of neat" followed by 30 minutes of soul-crushing boredom (also of course loud).

By the time Autechre came on, my ability to mentally takeover other people in order to find something was gone. Hmm. That sounds far worse than it really is. I'm not really a freak.

I for one by TPD (2.00 / 0) #10 Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 07:15:36 AM EST
am now VERY tempted to make my entry about the women from the planet R343L, like woman women but taller and with a larger capacity for alcohol and the uncanny ability to mentally takeover other people

What number are we on? by wiredog (4.00 / 2) #9 Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 03:04:04 AM EST
Who cares? It's JAFP. "Just another Fuckin' Planet". Except, since the trisexuals died off from mineral oil poisoning during that game of "Twister", there's been no fuckin'. At least for us quadsexuals. We need the tri's to make up our foursomes. And, no, two bi's won't work.

Meanwhile, the Commander has temporarily put a sock puppet in command of the landing party.

The sock puppet is a better commander than s/he (the Commander) is.

So we landed in the mountains of this rather undistinguished planet, in an unimportant star system, in a remote part of the galaxy. The only thing this planet is known for, really, is "Twister". The New Game Craze That's Sweeping the Galaxy. Sort of the way a New Broom Sweeps The Floor. Lots of detritus being swept up.

So, anyway, we land in the mountains. Meet this human. All he will say is "Bring me a Shrubbery!" Whatever. Humans are weird. Not enough manipulative digits, too few limbs, only two sexes.

Tasty, though. I wonder why dinner kept demanding shrubbery?

It's a Prose Song by wiredog (2.00 / 0) #14 Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 08:53:13 AM EST
Umm. Yeah. That's what it is. A Prose Song.

Imagine, uhh, a theremin, played by a cat, in the background, while it's being read. Sort of like some of that really early Pink Floyd or other drug induced music of that era.

Yeah, that's it. It's a Bold New Experiment in Music. Suitable for University English Departments Everywhere.

It's absolutely not a case of "He read MFC as WFC. No sirree.

I wonder what Hanger 18 would sound like tuned to C instead of E?

But if I say I'm gonna do it, I won't do it, so I'm not gonna say I'm gonna do it. The aliens would prevent it.

ad hoc created an upload site here, which has closed now, what with the original deadline being past. One presumes it could be reopened.
