As I previously mentioned, my singing schedule this week is very tough.  Any day I'm not singing the St. Matthew Passion with the Bach Society I've got a church choir obligation - rehearsal or service.  However, at this point I'm pretty relaxed about it.  If things go as planned it should all be much easier than the tail end of last week and the weekend. First I came down with a light cold, mainly from the shock of learning that Saturday's St. Matthew rehearsal was going to go the whole seven hours; there would be no reprieve for the choir so that the director could work with the soloists or anything like that.  Meanwhile my parents are coming into town, their first long trip since coming home from Nebraska after the car accident, and so I'm stressing about having my apartment clean and laundry done and whatnot.  If you want to take the "everything that happens is part of God's plan" attitude then I guess the reason I got sick right before the biggest singing week of the year for me outside of HG&S was so that I could take a day off from work and clean.  In the end it never affected my voice much but I sure was panicking.

Even without the cold I'd be worried about my voice surviving a seven hour rehearsal on Saturday, followed by Palm Sunday at church and then the whole three hour Passion on Sunday evening.  But it held up well enough, and so I'm confident I'll be able to cruise through the rest of the week.

Outside of the stress the weekend was awesome; having my folks in town was a real treat, having them able to come to church as well as the St. Matthew was an unexpected bonus, and of course going out for dinner afterwards with teh Y's and double-n-Jenn was wonderful.

So, this week I'm trying to relax some, not worrying if I don't make it to the gym every day, not worrying about cooking (bought easy quick stuff at the store last night), just trying to take it easy.  If it wasn't for my current work project I'd be thinking about taking a vacation next camping trip the following weekend will have to suffice (and it will).

If you're in town and like Bach (I guess that means you, Joe) you've got two more days to see the St. Matthew, Tuesday night at 7pm and Friday at 3pm.

Carry on.

P.S. I recently learned something - when playing BF2 for points, you have to stick on the server until the end of the round for the points to count.  Part of me is happy I've figured out why I haven't been leveling up as fast as I figured I should have been, part of me is annoyed that I now need to think about whether or not I really have time to play a whole round before I sit down and play.
