Print Story The Show Goes On...

We are doing a pantomime, Aladdin. The script is funny. I hope it makes people laugh. I know children will love it because it has people falling down and chase scenes with the benny hill music (it works man!). I put together some good sounds and had some excellent sound help from my brother-n-law (great Can-Can!) and more lovely musical help from our good friend Clock. What a sweet fella' he is! He was so accommodating even when bleeding... that has to be good to know!

Things came together shockingly well tonight at the dress rehearsal. It was the first time we had run the show all the way through as well as with full costumes. So, I had been concerned about time. But, we came in only fifteen minutes over, so, that's totally not insane. It should tighten up by the second show. I think it's going to be really fun to do. I can't wait for an audience so we can feel what it's like with the feedback from the kids. Hee hee! I also got the mic to work! Yays! I'm not sure how of course. I'm using a board that has never been explained to me as we have no real sound tech. But, so far I have been able to get everything to work the way I need it to, albeit with some serious fiddling about.

So, I was stressing about getting all the music together and crap, but now that we are here it's all great. This is the fun part. Also, I get to be excited because misslake is coming to see Popsicle in her grande debut (oh yes, my kid is so cool... don't even get me started!) and then hang about and perhaps help me get some shit done. That should also be rockin'!

So, here I go, on with the show... tra-la-la-la, la-la-la, tra-la-lee!

Was the script based on Thief of Bagdhad at all? by lm (2.00 / 0) #4 Wed Dec 10, 2008 at 04:14:24 AM EST
Yeah, all of them eventually go back to 1001 Nights. But I've always thought the Douglas Fairbanks version was an exceptional retelling of the story.

Kindness is an act of rebellion.
