The Road

Started, read, and finished The Road today.  Meh.  Not my cup of tea.

Did a fast today.  From midnight 'til 7PM.  Meh.

Was out for a small bit today, to take the garbage out, and to start the car to see if the battery was dead.  Man, it's cold out there.  Slept with the heat around 50.  I have a blanket from one of the colleges I attended and man is it warm.  Just a tad too short for me, but combined with the other blanket it makes for a great pair.

What else?  I filled out a job application/Affirmative Action postcard for a job I had applied to last week at one of the major Land Grand Universities in the nation.  Not even a bit optimistic but hey. Also started to fill out a job application for a job I apply for last week.  This was the position that had sent me a 'thanks for applying' postcard that I associate with rejection, because most times it is.  I had a phone interview and have a logic test next Friday.  I downloaded and started the application to save time, as suggested by tha gal I talked to on Friday.

When I asked my boss for a Personal Day on Friday for next Friday, she said yes.  She then asked if I was leaving her too.  I'm trying to, yes, but I answered in the negative.  Sure I'm a lying liar, but the boss doesn't need to know everything. I shaved Friday night so when I go in on Monday she'll know I was lying.  So I need to make up another lie.

The previous paragraph was a lesson on why lying is never good, as it just keeps going.

Coworker on Friday later that day, asked if I had an interview.  I told him the truth, since a logic test is not an interview,  He doesnt need to know either.  The place where he's going in 2 weeks is still hiring developers.  I should apply.

I have a job to apply for before I go to bed for the night.  It's a small place, and they want what looks like someone to do programming and sys admin and support.  The pay I am guessing is not going to be worth it.  But I'll apply anyway.  One never knows.

Never did get my refund back from the laundromat change machine fiasco two weeks ago.

A library.  All I ask for in this godforsaken area is a library that 1) has more than kids books 2) is open after 5PM and/or the weekends. 3)  There is no three.

Anyway.  Off to do things.

That was my backup story if pressed.  1) Blind date so I shaved. 2) requested friday off to go $somewhere in hopes that blind date went well.

I don't need to lie but, well I am.
