On Monday I went to the doctors. after describing the pain, the doctor moved my left arm all around and said I had pulled one on the big shoulder muscles in the back. I was then given a prescription for a muscle relaxant as all the other muscles around it were seizing up to compensate. The prescription was for Cyclobenzaprine and I took one that night before bed. Let's just say my body doesn't like that particular drug. I woke up the next morning with hives all over my legs and my right foot, my right hand and the right side of my face were all swollen. I looked lovely. That morning also happened to be the morning the moving company was coming to pack up my stuff. They arrived 20 minutes after I woke. The moving company finished around 4pm and I ran off to the walk-in clinic. There, the doctor put me on a steroid that would help with the allergic reaction as well as the muscle pain. It did.
The MINI
The car is halfway fixed. They are finding a lot more things that were bent or broken. The braces for both of the xenon headlights were broken, and like everything else, the lights come as one big part so the whole headlights have to be replaced. The collision shop is also having problems finding a vendor that has my performance cat-back exhaust in stock. The backup plan is to see if my insurance can be talked into a John Cooper Works exhaust for a few hundred more. Adding everything up, we are getting closer and closer to my initial estimate of $10K damage.
Moving
As mentioned above, my stuff was packed on Tuesday and loaded on to a truck on Thursday. That means I'm in an empty house with only a laptop, a clock radio and my ipod until my car gets fixed. My laptop does have a DVD player so I've been watching a lot of movies (The Matrix Trilogy, Dazed & Confused, Cars, Casino Royale, Easy Rider, and Swingers so far) and reading (Along Way Down by Nick Hornby, Fables & Refections by Neil Gaimon, A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore)
Other
Allstate agreed to pay for the half month extra I'm here, that includes half of all my utilities.
