We had to drive down a spiral driveway into the belly of the centre to reach the loading docks. There a little man in bright yellow told us where to park our car for unloading. We were given a little sticky note with the time written on it and warned that we only had thirty minutes past that number. Since we don't have a huge amount of stuff, no biggie.
So, we loaded out stuff on our dolly and hiked up the ramp. We stopped to get our Exhibitor Passes (we are soooo coool!!!) at the desk before entering the maze of mostly empty tables and many other retailers and whatnot milling around the place looking confused.
There was stuff everywhere, severed heads, plastic chickens, Star Wars everything, anime, gaming stuff, human corpse dummies etc. It was awesome. Finally we found our booth. It's super cute.
We are right across from the signing area and the food court. Chad Vader and David Prowse are the two signing tables right across from us. How cool is that!
We set up quickly, knowing we could fix stuff before the show as well. Then we left for food.
CBB is a little bit nervous. Don't tell him I told you, it could ruin his mystique. But, seriously, he has reason to be, as he is telling live stories while we are there. I think it is SO awesome and he will do a great job, but I do understand the nerves.
When he was younger CBB used to tell his siblings stories (his brother isocat particularly I think) on the fly, and he tells me stories from his leprechaun brain all the time. He is good at it. I know it will be great. He, however, is a little less confident about this. It's okay though because I am excited enough for both of us!!!
Last night as I drank my cider and he his beer CBB said to me- you can't wait for it to begin, and I can't wait for it to end. This is soo true. This is the sort of balance we provide for each other. I love running headlong into things I have never done before What Fun! That sort of thing makes CBB fairly the nervous/ill.
So, that's the story so far. I had wanted to take pics at the set up, but while loading the car and making sure everything was there and good, I forgot the camera. But, don't worry, I will not be forgetting it today! I will even try and record CBB telling one of his stories with the little video function on my camera .
Wish us luck!
