A new strategy on solving the Kuro5hin Troll problem, starve the trolls out. Why are we feeding them, why do we bite on their trolls? Maybe we can stop doing that, and make them starve out their attention disorders?
What I propose is this:
#1 Stop mentioning Kuro5hin.
#2 Do not refer to comments, diaries, or stories on Kuro5hin.
#3 If a Kuro5hin member posts a troll here, ignore it, and move on to something else.
#4 If they cite a post on Husi from Kuro5hin, and it is your comment suppress it, make them look foolish. Yes if they have an account on Husi they can see The Hole and all of the comments in The Hole.
#5 Avoid any negativism they display, only respond to positive things they post, do not reward them for bad behavior, do not pay them any attention unless they post something good and worthwhile. By this we can train them to become good users instead of trolls.
#6 Be positive ourselves, avoid negative things we might say, because they will try to troll us on them. Avoid complaining, they will troll us on that. Avoid showing negative emotions like anger, frustration, paranoia, fear, etc.
#7 Avoid giving out personal information they can use to troll us with later. Try to be vague about your life and only talk about positive things.
#8 Avoid using Kuro5hin if possible, and if you do only use it to read. Never post, unless you think you can make a post and avoid a troll.
#9 Stop caring about what Kuro5hin members think about ourselves or Husi. Their opinions on Husi and ourselves don't really matter anyway, because they are based on wild exaggerations if not outright lies.
#10 Post to help build up the community here at Husi, avoid doing trolls here.
Just my suggestions, based on my opinions on how trolls work, and I have experience on trolling, and I am trying to avoid being a troll despite what my user name here says.
