Did fuck all. Not necessarily in the way planned. Rich in new gadgets though.

Next door were drilling so peaceful reading accompanied by nice wine mostly didn't happen. Foodwise, I found a cheese I definitely do not like (epoisse). Kite flying was stymied by terribly stormy and wet weather. Partying and sociability can be counted as one, family not included. Mostly due to not really being in the mood to meet with particular people.

Gadget count.

  1. A new phone, obtained via present. The Nokia E60 which (hurrah) does not have a camera. It is my first Nokia since 1997 and thankfully the UI is much improved. Very nice screen on it.
  2. A new laptop, obtained via present to self before I curtail my fun expenditure. 13" core 2 duo macbook. In white. More screen, lighter and faster than my previous powerbook.
  3. A camera, obtained via present due to husband upgrading his. Nikon D70. I haven't owned a camera in years but it is nice to have a proper one. I used to be very into photography but without the financial means to implement it when I was an early teenager so now I have to relearn about aperture etc.

New MacBook. by blixco (2.00 / 0) #1 Tue Jan 02, 2007 at 02:36:10 AM EST
I was very close to getting one this past Christmas.  My iBook is a couple of years on and works well enough, but it has quirks (to be kind).

I'm thinking now I'll hold out until after taxes.

But every time I see one.....damn.  I really dig the new design.
I accidentally had a conversation in italian at lunchtime. I don't speak italian. - Merekat

I've been holding off by ObviousTroll (4.00 / 1) #2 Tue Jan 02, 2007 at 04:29:57 AM EST
My old PB is getting flaky; but there's no reason I can't live with it, so I keep holding off.

Plus, the whole black-tax thing is annoying. I'd prefer a black iBook but I really don't want to pay extra money for a black case.

It was an American tradition, like fathers chasing kids around with power tools.
