Perhaps it's because there's actually some interesting stuff going on at work. Rather on a lark I went back to the data archive, found an interesting data set, and now they've released data from the same time frame from another instrument, and it all kinda makes sense. This is cool because there's a conference in SFia in October, which might give me time to put something together. This falls firmly in the cracks between two fields of study, so not that many people know or care about it (but some of them really should).
Is that obfuscated enough?
I'm still missing our kitty. :-(
I'm working on an entry for the music fun challenge. I've been trying to record this particularly poignant piece for a while, with very limited success. If I have an evening or two and a weekend to work on it, maybe I can make something happen. If not the whole piece, at least there's a natural dividing point about 2/5 of the way through.
Is that obfuscated enough?
I don't seem to be able to write much creative stuff of late; see above under "no words in my head". I'm kinda feeling like there's something I need to say, but I don't know what or how. So, *shrug*.
Thanks for all the really nice comments in toxicfur's diary yesterday. :-)
Got a very odd not-quite-spam from some army guy trying to organize a bunch of his buddies for a beer run or something. Turns out they'd written their e-mail addresses out longhand, and some of them were not very legible, so they got us, instead. Fixed now, I think.
Next on the Netflix queue is one disk from season 5 of Highlander, containing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse sequence. Which I rather dimly remember being some of the best of that really mostly quite excellent series. I hope I found the right disk.
Which reminds me of an office down the hall from me, once occupied by 2 students. On the door was a poster. In one corner, the word "Adrian" with a picture of Adrian. In the opposite corner, the word "Paul" with a picture of Paul. In the middle, "Adrian Paul" with a picture of Adrian Paul holding his sword.
A certain somebody is coming up on her 400th diary entry in a certain place. Perhaps something special? I dunno. It's turned into a novel-length document.
I'm afraid I'm responsible for suggesting the front page poll to me0w. Sorry about that, folks.
