Print Story On the 'net, everyone will have 1 second of fame
By riceowlguy (Thu Jun 08, 2006 at 08:27:24 AM EST) MC Frontalot, strange conversations, driving, cars, weirdness (all tags)
and I just had mine.

So, somebody was kind enough to point out to me that MC Frontalot had linked to my diary about the show from the word "out", in the sentence "Click the words in this sentence to find out what the internets think about that."  Ahh, a man who speaks our language.  This somebody also happened to be the person I noticed in the PA shirt, so that was doubly awesome.

You know life is getting strange when your own mother suggests that you should get a sports car to try and attract women.  I told her "I don't think my Taurus is the reason I don't have a girlfriend", and she said "well, you know, it's the total package...".  Yikes.

Things are kind of weird right now.  Rehearsals have started for Trial By Jury/H.M.S. Pinafore; they have been frustrating on multiple levels (some related to the actual show, some completely unrelated).

I had an annoying adventure with Best Buy over the weekend; I went in on Saturday to buy Gran Turismo 4, and accidentally bought the open box for the demo disc.  So I brought it back on Sunday to exchange for a box with the actual game in it, and it took entirely too long to get somebody who figured out I wasn't trying to rip them off.  They won in the end anyway, since on Saturday, they did NOT have a Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel/pedals combo in stock, and on Sunday they did.  So, I've been having some fun with that this week, although I'm forcing myself to learn how to drive with a) manual transmission and b) no TCS or ASM, which means I can no longer just plow into corners and let the computer handle things, I have to actually have some skills.  Braking skills....shifting skills....gosh.

Soon I should have photographs to show off; I have five rolls to scan and tweak and get the best ones posted to Flickr.  Some might be friends-only, but again, if you friend me I more than likely will friend you.

I am looking forward to Saturday, when copious quantities of steak and wine shall be consumed, along with some other stuff, probably.  Vote in the poll and help me decide.

Don't like baked potatoes or mushrooms?

Thank! by riceowlguy (2.00 / 0) #2 Thu Jun 08, 2006 at 09:02:48 AM EST
Grilled marinated portabello mushrooms sounds good.

I don't really like baked potatoes, unless they are smothered in butter and sour cream and melted cheese, so there's little point.

Well, yeah - that was assumed :-) I wouldn't bother otherwise.

Don't mind me though - my doctor just put me on a carb-restricted diet, so I'm fantasizing right now.

It should be a crime to have steak without it.

It should be a crime to "cream" any vegatable.

I don't even read Best Buy ads so much by georgeha (4.00 / 2) #5 Thu Jun 08, 2006 at 10:05:41 AM EST
there's little that can entice me into that store.

If you're looking to improve the total package to attract the chicks, there's always the Spinal Tap Zuchinni option.

Stacky's taken.  Go for cute, single girls like yours truly.

Seriously, ask anyone from HusiStock.  I'm cute.  (See my last diary. I even admit it).

Oh, I voted for the veggies; i decided not to write myself in.  Figured that would be better for someone else to do.

The Stacky McRacky default poll option goes back to the old K5 days, it just seemed hilarious in this context.

But I'll put you on the menu if you like. ;-)
