Okay, it's a bit soon to be making announcements, but as everyone's doing it these days I suppose I will as well. Yes. That's right. My little men have done it again.

It's exciting, and (as those that know us will realise) scary, especially as we are yet to convince the medical establishment here to put Andie on anti coagulants.

Fortunately, what with Andie being still in the UK enough to be treated by the NHS, and resident in Austria enough to be under my insurance, where you can pick and choose doctors, I am confident we will find a solution quickly.

Andie is going to be in the UK for a month tomorrow, so she can talk to people there and get a letter of recommendation she can use here. Or something.

Other minor things:

  1. This was posted from sat in bed with my laptop over WLAN. Which is mostly working great, if only I could work out what it was in the firewall that is stopping me using iSync and iDisk.
  2. I have created an online calendar for Game Developer Conferences. iCal users can subscribe to it.

A good strong bodied red wine goes much better with rabbit. If you're cooking hare then you may as well skip wine and get a good dark ale.

From what I hear, you two are great parents. If people are gonna keep having kids, far better that you two have a second than someone less capable have a first.

Also, in my experience, an awful lot of only children are incredibly irritating and self centred. It's good to have a sibling or two (or four in my case; let that be a lesson to you).

A cursory literature search about aspirin in risky pregnancies turns up that it has a modest therapeutic effect, whilst the dangers are small but worth thinking about (measurably higher rate of maternal bleeding). Several meta-analyses say that anticoagulation may very well be a big win, but that proper studies of high-risk patients haven't been done.

So: There's no medical consensus on what to do. Andie shouldn't be worried that doctors don't have a straight answer. Shopping around for a doc who'll accept anticoagulation is reasonable.
