Last year I threw a pile of wildflower seeds onto the anthill and bindweed-wriddled lawn and said fuckit. Mow twice a year. It looks like absolute shit but there are loads of bees now and the cats love being able to lurk.

daisies and buttercups by Alan Crowe (4.00 / 1) #3 Tue Aug 29, 2023 at 02:37:45 PM EST
I had lots of daisies and buttercups in May and June. I count that a success of leaving the grass to grow. They've mostly gone and I'm not enough of a botanist to know why. Natural life cycle? Defeated by long grass? I expect that they will be back next year.

Violets by ana (4.00 / 1) #2 Tue Aug 29, 2023 at 01:57:30 PM EST
I had a spot like that. Violets love shade, and if you wanter them when they  wilt, they  do fine.

Time is too strange now for a real plot. --clock
