I feel stupid. I'm sure I'm missing something important. I got the feeling that know what Chloe transformed into was important, but I just couldn't work it out. It distracted me from the rest of the story.

Maybe I'm not supposed to know, maybe it's not important. It just felt like there was this assumption that I'd know what it was.

is clearly the best of the lot. It has something to say and makes the theme subordinate to that, rather than the other way around. "Contains metaphor and evil," indeed. Exactly what it says on the tin.

"Changes" is the next most successful story, I think. It has more good turns of phrase than I can quote in a comment, and more importantly, it paints the most complete picture of its world and the rules of the Change. I'd have liked it more if I liked Camille more, though I freely admit that's my own hangup. (It's not her fault, after all, it's the sleazy narrator.)

I don't know how to judge songs at all, but "Don't Make Me Human by the Light of the Moon" is the best title of anything I've heard in a long time.

The drug as change agent is brilliantly science fictional in that retrospectively obvious way. Liked it all round, tight, funny and so London you could chuck it up in the gutter with last night's kebab.

Medusa

Ditties are vernacular poetry and I love that we have a few this time around. Props for slipping 'naught' into a song I can't help singing in a mockney accent to the tune of Alexey Sayle's novelty song 'What's All That About'.

Thropetracker is not yet available on the fascist iTunes store. I had a less cool and well integrated version of this thrope infra idea. The log cabin, the drugs, the pirefighter house - this is a clear thematic double play.

Others mentioned the pieces aren't fully put together - I suspect all the details are there but I only see the shape of it. I don't actually mind that. I liked the observant callousness.

I just wanted to tip my hat to you for the WFC infrastructure itself, which was nearly as entertaining as reading the actual entries. If there were any justice in the world, "Memoir writing for a consensus surreality" would be a regular bookstore category.

First off, I loved the theme of this WFC - Scrymarch, this was an inspired idea! The stories and lyrics that came from it were all great, too, and I loved seeing how people responded to the surreal memoir idea.

Changes: I loved the structure of this story - the world-building happened without a lot of exposition. I did kind of wish that the pay-off, amusing as it was, had been a little less cringe-inducing.
Medusa: I really dug the idea of Medusa lamenting the loss of her power. I could imagine technician or iGrrrl singing this song in a bluesy kind of a way.
Unstill Life: "Thrope Tracker" is an app that needs to exist, and it's a far more interesting idea than all the zombie apps out there. I had a little trouble following the story, though, and I would like to see a more extended version. I felt like this was one part of a much larger story, and one that I'd like to read.
Temporary Immortality: I really like that the wereslut gets to be the hero(ine) for once! I would've liked to have seen a bit more of the situation with the pimp, though - is this something that happens regularly? Does the wereslut/heating repair man rescue women through sex often?
Don't Make Me Human...: I'm not even sure what to say about this one - clever lyrics, definitely clever title. I'm having trouble figuring out what it would sound like, though.
Tell All the Truth: I'm refraining from offering a review of my own this time, except to say that I wasn't entirely satisfied with it (of course), but I'll write more about that after the voting is done.
Den Creature: These lyrics seemed to pull together the ennui of all our lives of quiet desperation. I liked the imagery.

Voted for Changes because the storyteller's voice was so lyrical. Sure, he was a creep, but honestly, could he help it? Plus, I thought it was really funny. His ideal turns out to be an angel, which makes her kind of repulsive to him. (Although one thing was hard to relate to, as I, myself, have never felt like a big needy cock attached to a body whose only function was to get me to the place, anyplace, where release could be found. He said convincingly.)

Anyway, a tip o' the cap to all the writers, and thanks for ana for the nudge to read & vote.
