there should be the button that says 'more printers' down at the bottom.  If you hold down the option key when you click it, you should have the ability to select 'advanced'.  One of the advanced options is to explicitly configure the printer over smb which goes something like:
smb://user:password@computername/printername

Would be in an end of the world type situation. We'd all be going at once and so no-one would be sad.
