most of the Stupor Bowls. Heck, it may have been good enough to justify the actual existence of the StuporBowl.

Rockers rockin in the rain is usually a good show. I saw the Rolling Stones in 89 at RFK in the pouring rain. They really got into it. One of the Best Shows Evar.

I drove through the rain to go to the record store once and I seem to recall buying some good CD's that day so I'm going to have to AWTP too.

At least the first half was entertaining but I couldn't help thinking that neither team deserved to be there.

You may have missed the actual SB game, Bob. by ammoniacal (4.00 / 1) #7 Wed Feb 07, 2007 at 05:53:00 AM EST
It was held on January 6th, when Seattle played Dallas.

The NE vs Indy game was the REAL Super Bowl. Heck, even the Chi vs Bal game was better than the SB.

I don't recall Seattle playing in January?????? Did they make the playoffs???

Pro: He's got right stones for invoking the Nuremberg Defense.

Con: I think he invoked it because he didn't want to get sand in his pussy.

Pro: Soldiers should be encouraged to contemplate the legality of orders and subsequently act within the confines of the Law.

Con: He's a fucking commissioned officer (i.e. Duty, Honor, Country) and his missed movement means that some other yamhead is pulling double-duty for him.

Pro: The judge was right to declare a mistrial for a procedural error.

Con: Any finding of guilt would have been over-turned, due to the judge refusing to allow the Nuremberg Defense in court.

Pro: Hundreds of thousands of dollars were added to the local economy, due to the media focus on the trial.

Con: Traffic south of here has been fuckered, and Sean Penn entered my county without authorisation.

I saved kite from my to-sell pile.. Been cleaning out our bookcases recently, and have a substantial pile of books to give away/sell to the used book store.. Might be a diary give-away at a later date, though I fear the shipping would kill me.

So I've done 2 of your books, almost got the devil book based on the NPR review, but passed on it.

And ThunderStruck is by the wrong author. The correct author is Angus Young.

Also, from your holed entry, mrs clock asked a good question, whatever happened to your street lawyer-esque "should I sleep with my buddies wife who was hitting on me" troll ?

Thunderstruck was better by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #14 Wed Feb 07, 2007 at 06:27:52 AM EST
Devil in White City was pretty good, but nothing special. I found the Marconi/Dr. Crippen story line in Thunderstruck much more compelling. Actually I think it's rather odd to mix these historic events with famous murders together in one book but the guy is a good writer nonetheless.

Warmest regards,

Rush wasnt nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by lm (2.00 / 0) #17 Wed Feb 07, 2007 at 07:49:03 AM EST
From the press release: ``submits the name of Rush Limbaugh as an unsolicited nomination.''

This is only a nomination for the Peace Prize in the same way that any male weight lifter can be said to be training for the Mr. Universe competition. They can train all they want, but unless they've been invited to participate by the competition itself, they aren't really in the running.

The Nobel committee only accepts nominations from nominators who have been invited to submit nominations. Law firms such as Landmark are not qualified to even be invited to submit nominations.

Gosh darn that liberal media that always uncritically publishes those danged press releases by people are looking for free advertising!

When has Bob ever let facts get in the way of a good story (or mid-quality rant)? I mean, we're talking about a guy who is still pushing the "fact" that Oprah's demonstrably multi-racial school is just for blacks in order to get in his jabs. Details are beside the point when you're scoring zingers like these, baby!

the nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize are open. You could nominate Bob, if you wanted.

IIRC, a year or two ago someone left-wing type was being hyped as "nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize" and the right wing bloggers figured out that the guy had nominated himself (or some such).

I expect they nominated Rush in more-or-less the same spirit.

They seem to think the nominations are closed.

"Forms, which amount to a personal and exclusive invitation, are sent to about three thousand selected individuals to invite them to submit nominations. In the case of the Peace Prize, for example, any of the following people may be asked to make nominations: members of national assemblies and governments of states; members of international courts; university rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes; Peace Prize laureates and/or board members of organisations that have been awarded the Peace Prize; active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.

Similar requirements are in place for the other Prizes."

At one point, a defense lawyer got a death-row inmate nominated in an attempt to get publicity for his case.

There was supposed to be a second sentence to that post.

Bob, there's a Walt Disney on line 2 who wants to talk to you about short tourists. He says the idea's already been taken, and he'll sue you if you write anything more about it. Also, there's this funny background music about small worlds after all, but I'm not sure what to make of that.
