Isle of Jura 12 by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #1 Thu Mar 09, 2006 at 09:03:13 AM EST
I was introduced to Jura by "industrial" musician, Chris Connelley, who suggested it as a tasty and cheap replacement for Oban. I'm not sure it tasted much like Oban, but it sure as fuck was a great deal cheaper, and I retain a bottle of it in my home bar at all times, as a result.

You can build the most elegant fountain in the world, but eventually a winged rat will be using it as a drinking bowl.

After number 12 or so.

I've bought a bottle or two of Jura before: not sure if it was the 12 year old. Pretty mild tasting but very drinkable.

Number 25 sounds great. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #3 Thu Mar 09, 2006 at 09:11:33 AM EST
How much of each did you have?

Not very much by TheophileEscargot (2.00 / 0) #6 Thu Mar 09, 2006 at 10:37:20 AM EST
Hence my being alive.

Some of the stands just slosh in a random amount. Some of them have little tasting-size optics on the bottles though. I think 15cl, though I could be misremembering.

15cl?! by TurboThy (2.00 / 0) #9 Thu Mar 09, 2006 at 01:23:12 PM EST
... times 24 means you drank 3.6 litres of whisky (plus numbers 25 through 37 that you forgot to write notes for) - no wonder you couldn't read your notes!

Well, that would be lethal by TheophileEscargot (2.00 / 0) #12 Thu Mar 09, 2006 at 08:20:07 PM EST
Maybe it was ml. Or maybe another number entirely.

Even if I was a little slow to work out the first one.

What about the advertising girl tasting the Thanksgiving sodas, though? Doesn't she come into the running, or am I nostalgic for last year.

I'm sad that I've never seen her around town.

I never really considered face-to-face contact a possible thing. -CRwM

But can't for the life of me deduct meaningful scores from it. It's still the best rating system though.

Glen Riach 21 year old sounds interesting.

What posessed you to spend precious time watching the Dukes of Hazard movie?

Operation Become Less Fat by TheophileEscargot (2.00 / 0) #16 Fri Mar 10, 2006 at 07:39:22 AM EST
Involves a certain amount of lifting dumb-bells, so I tend to watch undemanding DVDs or TV while doing them.

Didn't know it would be as bad as it was. I mean the reviewers said it was terrible, but they said the same thing about Stealth, which I gave a respectable #C80520.

Slight error there: I put Glen Riach when it should be Ben Riach.

Caol Isla 18 yo cask strength is amongst the very best, on par with the Nikka white (I'm into heavily peated stuff).
