And I've made some bad decisions. I think we'd all be a bit better off if I worked to reverse some of them and not continue on my way towards destruction. I can't guarantee I'll fix them all and I won't promise to be perfect, but I'll make a start and work on the big ones.

Aw frig: more breakage.

So last night I broke another one of my roommate's glasses. I've broken four in the past year, two in the last two weeks. One water glass (tried to stack it, doesn't stack), two balloon wine glasses (both of those were trying to put them in the dishwasher), but this last one was pure clumsiness and it was a good glass. It was one of the pint glasses that he had etched with the name of one of his beers. Oops! And it was the only one he had left of that design. I just knocked over a stack of glasses while reaching for something in the dark, only the top one broke.

Guess who's getting season one of THE TICK in the mail from Netflix today? Guess who's watching it all in one sitting (well, he may pause to make blueberry margaritas)? Guess who may do a second run through even if it takes all night?

Quarterly reporting starts tomorrow. Woo. Meeting to discuss division of labor tomorrow first thing. So one of my coworkers needed access to a certain system and the process with the sending of forms etc was not quite working right, so the team had the idea of going directly to the desk of the guy in charge of that.

Got my bag

I got by bag in the mail yesterday. It smelled great. Dark coffee brown. Nice leather, the sort that gets marked if you so much as touch it with your fingernail at first. When I got home, I beat it up a bit. I stuffed it full of towels and sweaters so that it would stretch a little and then sat on it in a few different orientations. It got rained on a little this morning. It's already starting to look a little conditioned. I'll be able to give a full review after a few weeks or months of use. It's fairly heavy.

So I was going to go out tonight to some nice restaurant, and I decided to go to the nice French place around the corner from my house, I haven't been but they're supposed to have a pretty decent prix fixe offering right about the time I get home from work. I wanted to do it today because, well, why not. I look at the web site to see what was on the menu tonight. Closed on Mondays. D'oh!

Movies I've seen recently that were pretty all right, all things considered

Given the recent "Worst Movies Ever" diary, I would like to take this opportunity to inject a little bit of a positive feel into this site. It's easy to always crap on everything, but then you're just a crap factory, and nobody likes a crap factory. Here, then, is a positive counterbalance: movies you have seen recently that were pretty all right, all things considered. I'm limiting it to films you've seen recently, since otherwise this would just degenerate into, "OMG, these are the ten best films EVAR." There are plenty of other places in the world to discuss that.
