gzt: batch renaming in Windows?

Are there any utilities packaged with Windows to do efficient batch renaming? Just simple stuff like removing caps and maybe replacing bad characters in filenames (ie, spaces replaced with _ or something). Or even just the first. I'm in a situation similar to a recent diary, where the user did not have the ability to install his own programs or whatever on his computer at work but still had to, like, actually get work done occasionally.

Now that America's housing market has turned down, what happened to all of the others about which I used to hear? UK, Ireland, Australia, Spain, Denmark, South Africa, among others were often mentioned to have appreciation rates that put American ones to shame. Are they still going strong? Have they stopped? Are they having problems?

There is all sorts of societal good that could be set up through this like requiring pet owners would to have said pets spayed or neutered to qualify, certify a certain level of environment for them to play in and so forth. But, sadly enough, we do not. All of that was in reflection of us attempting to get a second dog for the second time.

Distribution I'm in the wrong business. In order to ingratiate myself to management and colleagues alike, right after our local data center was moved to the UK for "consolidation" I built a local file server. This held various software builds available via resumable FTP. Since Windows Exploder has never been able to move 12GB of data across even a 10 fibre channel connection, this pleased everyone. Sunny weather poll x-posted to da brog.

toxicfur: Today, the Middlesex Fells

Life has pretty much sucked recently. The estate lawyer we hired, a family friend who's known me since I was born, has done nothing since we hired her. As a result, I have one brother who became very angry at me, another brother who's tried like hell to get something to happen with the estate, and me, getting more and more angry at the universe. On top of the family stuff, there's work, one deadline after another since I got back from North Carolina in February. Finally, those deadlines are over, and I have permission to take some time for myself. So, following the lead of Bob "Trailblazer" Abooey, I gathered up the dogs and went to the Fells.
