Out of roughly 45 seeds, at least 20 have little white roots showing, some almost an inch long. The others are still covered too much to tell, but I'd not be surprised if I have 90% or more germination.

Ok, so I'm not your favorite kuron. But I didn't misbehave when I came here, at least. Bad news first (for me, you guys might get a kick out of it)... funding troubles at the startup I'm at again. Looking for a new job, and it sucks. [editor's note, by ana] moved to the diary section, at the request of the author.

Just last week I was bitching and moaning that the startup I work for was going under completely, leaving me to live out of a cardboard box. Well, there is news! But who the hell knows what it means...

Employment disaster looms

In September 2006, a guy I knew only from IRC from years back looked me up, and offered me a job. $60,000 a year at a startup in Atlanta, GA. I was unemployed, not uncommon for me, and this was nearly twice as much as I've ever made. That and some personal things led me to accept and make the move.

The latest of my SVG applets is functional, but not complete. (potentially not safe for work, anatomically correct male 3d model in non-lewd pose) You can draw on the surface of the model with either the point or rectangle tools.

The basic SVG 3d applet is nearly complete. (Safe for work) Scaling was finished awhile ago, though technically I am resizing, since scaling implies something done in funky 3d math. When you drag, it just adjusts the 4 corners' 3d coordinates. (Which is good, because this is easier to directly translate to size).

I've been tinkering with a new SVG applet. Pretty ugly eh? (Instructions: scroll down to the slider widget, and use it.)

At the end of December, having gotten tossed out by my now ex-girlfriend, I moved to Baltimore. The calculus of migration was simple... anything farther than about 200 miles away was unfeasible. There were only a few cities within that range, and of all of them, I managed to get a bite on a temp job in the asscrack* of America, beautiful Baltimore. * The hole itself being DC, of course.
