Modern music

Grunge has been dead since, what? 1996? 1997? Aren't the kids these days due for another angry rebellion against pop music? It's been over 10 years. We've been through the shitty pop music that inevitably follows the downfall of every rebellious teenager musical period, we've been through the more melodious music which actually has some creativity that follows that, and the whiny "woe is me. I'm a man but I write poetry and no one understands me" music that runs more or less concurrently to the end of that and we seem to be stuck in a rut now. It's time to rebel back to where we began. Nouveau Rock N' Roll, neo-punk, the grunge revival, I don't care care what the fuck you call it--but I'm tired of my music library, so get working.

Music

Attn Amarok using Lunix infidels: Do any of you know of a way to make Amarok exclude certain file types when scanning for music? I have it set to scan ~/, and when it does instead of just picking up MP3s, oggs and the like it picks up movies and adds the audiotrack from them to my library. If I keep my library on random, it keeps randomly throwing the audiotrack from porn into the playlist and after 3 or 4 minutes I find myself saying "Man, this song is really long" before realizing what's happening and needing to go through all the effort of hitting next. Needing to monitor the playlist really defeats the purpose of having it on random, so I'm looking for a way to say "Only search for files of type ..." or "Exclude files of type ..." or "Search for regexp ..." when scanning. It seems like it should be a trivial feature for any MP3 player that gets its library by scanning your hard drive, but somehow I can't find said setting. Inside: review of a show I was at on Thursday (and obscure bandname dropping to prove how cool I am, yo.)

anonimouse is just trying to make this a more boring place. I'd appreciate it if you'd bitch about your ex and/or (if they have a husi account) start a flamewar with them my diary. If you refuse to do that and insist on posting your own diary to bitch, then make sure it doesn't go to the hole or cellar so that I can VS2FP.

I have found the greatest piece of art in this city

Certainly, the city of Toronto has never produced any sculpture better than the one below. Update [2007-12-30 22:17:39 by Driusan]: Taking a picture of the statue and the PFC have put me in a photograph-y kinda mood, so I just went downstairs and took a picture of my apartment building's laundry room and added it here.

I was supposed to work late today and provide IT support in case anything went wrong just before our quarter end close, so I started at 1600h. I got into work just in time for The Man to buy me beer and play a couple games of foosball.

On Monday I went out and tried to take some pictures for the next PFC (where P stands for photo!) and may or may not have gotten one worth submitting. I think I'll keep my eyes opened for something better before the submission diary is posted but in the meantime.. Inside: A picture I took that I definitely won't be submitting on account of it not having anything to do with animals.
