They may not be re-filling my position. My boss is interviewing for a new jorb on Monday. People in other areas are slowly becoming horrified as they realize I won't be around.

...my boss hasn't yet gotten permission to replace me. but we have found somebody in the company who's excited and interested in the gig, seems bright, so that's cool. but no word on whether they'll be allowed to do so.

Even though it's work, I'm gone soon, so I'll post it in public.

I might go to a bar on Friday and watch the Greece vs Germany match because why not? It's at 1:45 local time and I have some vacation to burn. I'm not a huge fan of cricket, but it's all good fun. Besides, Heidegger vs Socrates!

I was stupid and couldn't type right, apparently. I accidentally did my change of address request wrong with the post office and said I was moving into 2W instead of 1W. I sent in a correction today.

So I picked up an edition of Sigrid Undset's Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy recently because it is awesome. Apparently she also wrote a decent tetralogy called The Master of Hestviken and the first volume, The Axe, was available fairly cheap (now only a penny!), so I picked it up, too.

Ah, those magical words.

Anyway: i've become one of those people. I think I'm finally turning into one of those elitist liberals that everybody, including myself, hates.

Note: elitist liberal, not liberal elite.

we were in the middle of watching a movie. fortunately, the storm brought the temperature a bit, so by opening the windows we were able to live without the AC until the power kicked on again.

On Sunday, I agreed to play War of the Ring this evening, but I decided to opt out tonight. I went to a dinner party on Friday, went out on Saturday, went to a chess tournament Sunday, and played a chess match last night. I really need to be home a little bit. Fortunately, they easily found a fourth to replace me.
