Chickenhawk by Robert Mason. Autobiographical book by a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. I found it pretty fascinating. There's lots of technical detail, and some dramatic accounts of the huge helicopter formations in use.
He seems to be pretty honest about the brutality and the stupidity of the war. There are some fairly chilling scenes like the execution of prisoners. However it's not exactly surprising given what we know about the war by now.
Overall, a very good war memoir, but not exactly topical.
